Why do teenagers so much enjoy social drama?

trying out emotions is all.Why do teenagers so much enjoy social drama?
Isn't is obvious? It makes them feel important. It garners attention, and often is the beginning of an established social hierarchy. Social conflicts are a teenagers way of instigating conflict to cause people to look at them. Depending on who comes out of the conflict on top, the people engaging in it stand a chance to better their social standing. its all very stupid, but hey, It's in the genes! Why do teenagers so much enjoy social drama?
It's not so much that we enjoy it, it's just more that it happens to us when things happen and get bigger. We don't try to start the drama it just happens to us. I don't think we necessarily enjoy it, it's more that it just happens to teens. I hope we grow out of it, though. Personally, though, I don't like it. :)
I don't think we enjoy drama. I don't. Some people do but only if its not their own. I experience way too much drama in highschool (I just graduated) and went through so much stress because of it and I'm so glad its over now. I guess some people get bored with life and the drama gives them something to talk about and focus on.
Because their ';entire'; life is condensed into a short past and right this very minute, maybe this upcoming friday night too. The future is this far off, illusionary, possibly fictional place that they will never go. At least not until they're old and then who cares.

So, that said, it gives everything happening right now a lot more urgency and importance, after all this is all there is, right? And by the way the world does revolve around them and therefore will come to an end at the slightest of tilts.
Eh...It kills time really. Kind of like an interactive soap opera (TV corporations would be all over that if they could). Doesn't everyone like a little drama in their lives anyways (not just teenagers)?

I, personally, don't like getting caught up in it. We've only been around for a little more than a decade...who are we to pretend that our lives hold any kind of significance yet anyways?
i HATE drama

all of my friends hate drama

but somehow everyone of us that says we hate it ends up being involved in the drama and i dont think every teenager enjoys drama

its just what happens and sometimes we tend to take things out on eachother or get mad at eachother for stupid little reasons lol

thats just me n my friends i dont know bout the rest of the teenagers
I am a teenager my self. Teenagers like drama because it is just their maturity level. For some because it is fun. For others because they like to watch fights. They start doing the he said she said stuff so drama can go on and watch someone get beat up. It is what they come to school for.
it gives them something to talk about. Being a teenager, i try to get away from social drama becaue i don't want to be involved. I don't what to get blamed for it and so on. But that's what teens are all about sometimes. Drama.
maybe it's just our immaturity, but me and my friends LOVE social drama, we are also obsessed with all these soaps! I guess we just wanna ';live the life'; and we're just waiting for some excitement. This probably sounds really stupid, but all the best.
i'm a teenager and i hate any kind of drama when i hear it i just walk away! but yeah i know too many of them like it,but i'm not one of them, lol
i think you mean ';why do teenagers enjoy social drama so much';

teenagers like fights and arguments and being instigating and stuff it makes life more interesting and fun
something to do or talk about. rather then boring stuff. very entaining when the drama doesnt envolve you. wierd, but its the truth.
They're young and inexperienced and think that's how it should be, because that's all they've seen from the adult role models.
i think it's part of growing up. they learn what behavior meets what need. when the talk they seem more approachable and get more attention,...,
Because they need attention and they're weak.

I hate people like that... really.

Is there an age where maturity sets in?

I guess not.
- hormones

-what media portrays

-life is just boring

-it makes them happy
girls do in my school there always bitching and arguing and some guys but most dont i just like watching fights
Because it allows for self-expression.

over active hormones lead to out of control emotions.
I tend to edge away from the people who like to cause drama.
We don't enjoy it! It's just things that get blown out of proportion!
maybe its because its an akward time and there is nothing else to do
makes them feel important i guess.
its fun
