A teenagers worse enemy, acne. How to get rid of it?

I have some acne not too bad but no matter what type of ointment I put on it it never works and some only makes it worse. Is there any type of ';unique'; treatment or something like that that would help to clear up my skin?

Any advice at all would be great,

Just answered a similar question earlier today, lol. Here is what I told them, modified to fit what you seem to be asking! :)

Don't use ProActiv, that stuff gets rid of it but if you miss using it one day or switch to a different cleanser you will break out worse than you ever had before you started it.

When you wash your face at night use cooler water, esp. when you rinse off, because the heat can affect the skin and irritate it, no need to scald it. Also, pat dry your skin, don't rub and leave it just slightly damp when you do, helps to hydrate the skin so it doesn't feel the need to over produce oils for dry skin.

Lavender oil on zits helps to heal them when you get them and prevent scarring, it smells rather strong so if you decide to try it put it on at night after washing your face and are about to go to bed. It works with your skin to heal it, and even though it is an oil it dries out the skin rather than making it oily.

Benzoyl Peroxide is great stuff for on the spot treatments. Get a gel or spot on cream from a store that has this in it and it works wonders.

Toothpaste (stuff with baking soda is the best, paste not gel) works great to calm irritation and help dry them out. Put a dab (don't rub in) on your zits every night before bed, leave on over night and wash off next morning.

Also, take cooler showers. The hotter your shower the more likely your skin is to break out, and make sure the soap you are using is being applied with a clean cloth or other scrub so that it can exfoliate the skin a bit and remove any dead skin cells. Using just your hands and a bar of soap doesn't do much to remove dead skin cells and just pushes them around (dead skin cells clog pores and are a big CAUSE of acne even though you can't see or feel them).

Tempting as it is don't pop the nasty things, it makes them worse and can cause infection. Also drink extra water each day and night to help flush out your body and it will help keep your skin clear, avoid soda and greasy or fried foods for two weeks to see if it helps. My one friend breaks out if she eats peanut butter more than if she doesn't.

Also, wash your pillow case every week, it helps a LOT I found, and if you can try showering at night so the oils and dirt in your hair that comes from the day doesn't rub off onto your pillow, thus embracing your skin with new zits. Wash your towel with them every week or other week two.

Well,I do have terrible acne and I found that my skin type is sensitive skin and it makes me harder to find the right products that I could use to reduce my acne. That is when I tried Clinique 3 Steps Skincare Regime and it really works for my acne and now I have less breakouts after 3 months usage and I only need to work on my scars from my previous acne to improve my skin complexion.Since Clinique 3 Steps works for all skin types,I would recommend you to try this product since it has the basics of skincare regime and work wonders on your skin. However, you could also try these homemade remedies if you want to improve your chance of healing.Good luck trying these at home(:

Honey Paste-Another easy and effective homemade acne treatment is to make a paste of honey with cinnamon and nutmeg. All you need is about one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and about half of it nutmeg powder. Add some honey to make enough paste to cover the inflammed area completely. Just lie down as honey may dribble down. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with luke warm water.

Orange peel-Homemade Acne Treatment using Orange peel has been found very effective. Pound the orange peel with water on a piece of stone and apply to acne affected areas.

Basil tea-Basil tea like neem is effective in killing bacteria. Drinking it twice a day can do wonders to the skin.

Coconut Oil-Coconut oil is a cheap and easily available acne solution. Regular use of coconut oil over a period of time helps to clear your skin.

Lemon Juice-A simple remedy at home for acne: Apply lemon juice regularly to reduce pimples and acne. This has proven beneficial results.

Well, these are the remedies that work gentle on your skin while getting rid of acne.Hope this helps and great skin wishes
I'm not sure if this will work but if you go out and find a bottle of Oil-Free Acne Wash (foam cleanser) then it might work, it worked for some of my bad blackheads and stuff but im not sure because i've never had acne. But since it says Acne wash it should be good.

I use it and it works awesome for me.

It's Neutrogena and its an orange fluid in the bottle but comes out foam
i know how you feel mine isnt severe like i see some other teens but its still noticable..its because my skin is real sensitive so when i eat a lot of sweets or drink soda and juice like i do all the time..my face breaks out..but i remember one time all i drank was like water for a whole month and i used that proactive stuff night and day and my face started getting clear...but then i got depressed and i quit it..lol..but yeah just try and drink water stay away from sweets..wash your face night and day..and i just started using clean%26amp;clear..hope i helped XD
well i am a 20 year old female... ive had horrible break-outs since i was like 12... and it just never seems to go away... i get horrible zits that are huge and hurt and are deep within my skin and the best thing i can say is DO NOT use Proactiv!!!!!!! NEVER!!!! dont even waste your money on it... i get facials once every 5 or 6 weeks and she says proactiv is horrible for your face it dries it out so bad and only gets whats on the surface. ive been using pevonia which is by the way 80 bucks for a kit like proactiv gives you but i was DESPERATE!!! so far... i dont even know... ive tried everything but it really looks like im saving 80 bucks real soon. im about to go to a dermatologist. i think thats what you should do...just go straight to them. they know exactly what to give you for exactly your type of skin. dont spend all your money and buying all these products to try and make your skin better...just go straight to the MD's. something i shouldve done a LONG time ago
DUDE!!! ACUTANE!!! its a drug! and your a guy, which its better for guys. I used to have horrible acne. I tried cream, after ointment, after wash. Those things kinda help for very mild acne, but are mostly scams. a large amount of acne (moderate to severe) just can't be cured externally. i tried pro-active, and the acne free system. I also organic methods such as that apple sider vinager based thing. NOTHING WORKED. it was all over. on my back, chest, and face. it was bad. Within one month, it was cured, and never came back. good stuff, comes in pill form. You need to see a dermotologyst tho.
This 18 year old had severe acne for 4 years. She still have few spots on her forehead but in general her face is clear and she only half way through the program. She so excited about been rid of acne for ever.

I know if you want to stop acne in it's track this WILL help you.

A really good cleansing system for acne is Pro-Active however going to a dermatologist and getting prescribed medication (Clindagel) might be a good idea as well.
I don't know. I'm wondering this same question! I have it, but not to bad also. I want it gone. lol. Well, hope you find the ointment your looking for.
just keep it clean and try not to pop them, appearantly it only spreads the bacteria and causes more pimples to pop up.
Eat heaps of fruit and veggies and don't touch your face.
